Science of Storms

In November’s edition of AQUILA magazine, children can read about Lewis Fry Richardson who, in 1913, was really ahead of his time when he had the original idea that storms could be predicted using Maths. They will discover how the emergency services use dynamic data to save people and to plan evacuation routes. Children can also learn how to paint like artist J.M.Turner who found wild weather so exhilarating he would ask sailors to lash him to a ship’s mast so he could experience the full force and violence of a storm at sea!
