I know that everybody says this but Aquila is the best!!! My favourite issue is the Christmas one because my birthday, is four days before Christmas Day, and because there is a rat/mouse on the cover. I love arts and crafts so the activityís in each issue are perfect for me. My 7 yr old brother William has an an issue from two yrs ago. He loves it because general knowledge is totally his thing. I love roller blading, acting, singing, swimming and reading. I also make hair scrunchies to raise money for turtles. I had a go at making the sewer in the London issue 2021, and I was really pleased with the results. There were some plastic Halloween rats lying around in my room, so I added them to my sewer. My real rats also decided to add themselves to my sewer which was fun. From Sophie and her rats, Oreo and Polar-bear
Dear Aquila, here is a picture of the Szopka my sister and I did. It is called Lord Bog Baby's castle and looks more like a Palace than a 'Christmas Crib'.
Me and my sister really enjoyed making it and we hope you like it too!

My favourite page of the mag is Brain Feeders because the puzzles are really fun to do.
My favourite issue so far has been Chocolate (April 2022). The reason for my love of chocolate is when I was little, my brother and I were eating chocolate buttons. I had fewer chocolates than him so I wrote a letter to the company and they sent me a free voucher for more chocolate!!!
Angus - age 8

Iím so happy I finally get to write to you. Iím from Ireland. I loved the Robotics issue (January 2022) so I made this. I call it the Recycling Robot and it is made from 100% recyclable things. It can help with recycling and has other ideas to help save our planet. PS My birthday is in 28 days!
I loved your Solar Science issue and I was inspired to create my very own sun temple. Here is a picture of me with it. My favourite issue so far was Mysterious Maths. Could you do an issue on puzzles? Iím always excited when my magazine arrives each month!
PS shout out to my step sister Sophie, who gets her own magazine each month too
I was so inspired by your Solar Science issue (June 2022) that I decided to make my own solar system from a space kit! From the same kit Iíve also made a rocket and launch pad. I only joined Aquila in November 2021 so Iím still quite new to it but so far the Solar Science has been my favourite issue.
From Georgina, age 9
Dear Aquila, I love your magazines!! I always take them into school and read them but my English teacher ALWAYS says 'You need to read more things you age, like novels! Not magazines!' Little does he know that these magazines are so informative and entertaining that they put Charles dickens to shame! I never really make anything from the magazines though as they are quite complicated and require a lot of equipment. I have SO many magazines. Whenever I get one in the post I immediately flip to the back to see what Ian has to say and then go through the brain feeders. An issue I'd really like to is is an issue on gay rights and the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you so much for making such amazing magazines! Yours sincerely, Ramona
Dear AQUILA, After reading one of your magazines at school, I decided that I loved AQUILA and I would like a subscription for my birthday in 2022. So far my favourite issue has been the Mysterious Maths (March 2022) - I am very excited because this is my first time writing to you!
My favourite two pages are Calculata and Polly - in this letter I have included a photo of my Egg Lander from the Brilliant Birds issue - I hope you like it!
From Elizabeth Sampson, age 10
P.S. I love reading so does Wordworm have any book recommendations?

From ( possibly) your biggest fan Elanor (age 10)
I love dinosaurs! My favourite dinosaur is a velociraptor. They lived around 75 million years ago and weíre quite small at around the size of turkey. Donít be fooled in to thinking they were cute.. they were quite Ďthe beastí! It was proven in 2007 that it was highly likely they had feathers, which my picture attached shows.
I was inspired by your ďbook nookĒ and made a nook for my Harry Potter books. I made it in the shape of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! I am a new subscriber and am really glad my Nana Barbara bought me an Aquila subscription for my 8th birthday.
Hello, my name is Rohen Vargo and I love AQUILA! I live is San Diego, California and find your magazines super interesting. I have been a fan since my first subscription on my ninth birthday. My favorite magazine is the Evolution issue (January 2020). Here is a picture of me with all of my magazines.
Hi, my sister and I tried to make our own sewer system but improvised a bit. We gave our sewer a dragon spout and decorated it with feathers. To see the water flow through the system, we dyed it blue. The whole family got in on the engineering fun!
My name is Annika and Iím nine. I live in Washington DC and I LOVE your magazine! I was inspired by the beautiful cover of your October edition to make the painting below! I really enjoyed making it. I also love the painting of butterflies traveling on page 8! Monarch butterflies are my favorite type because of the different shades of orange on their wings and because they have such a beautiful journey and life cycle.
I really liked reading the fall AQUILA magazine and I look forward to reading the next one!
Hi there fellow Aquilanaughts,
My name is Genevieve and three years into receiving Aquila mags I have finally got around to writing in! This year I started high school and despite the HUGE workload, I have found time to read Aquila. In fact, I have found time to read a lot of things. Some recommendations for avid readers include the Ruby Redfort series, The Children of Castle Rock, Inkheart, Solving for M, and obviously Harry Potter. Here in Sydney, we are in lockdown but hopefully, it will end soon. The only member of my family who is thrilled by a lockdown is my dog, Endeavour. Having everyone around twenty-four-seven is his idea of heaven.
Happy holidays everyone,
Genevieve, (almost) 13
PS: Below is an image of me waiting for the bus, fully ensconced in my Aquila.
Hi I know EVERYBODY (and I mean EVERYBODY) says this and this and this and (this this this this this etc) but your magazines are EPIC (and I mean it). I live in the South Island of New Zealand, I am a major bookworm and I spend a lot of my time reading. All of the books out there are counted as my favourites with me! Some book recommendations here: Out Of My Mind by Shannon Draper, October October by Katya Balen and Chasing Space by Leland Melvin are some really good books. I really liked all of the issues and I am really looking forward to another year of subscribing! If I really have to pick my favourite issues it would probably be: creative coding, Japan and ice age. I was looking through the Japan issue and found the manga tutorial. I decided to have a go and here is the outcome:
Anyways, recently we got 7 neon tetras in our new fish tank and they are really cool, they are also voracious eaters now I should really stop writing.
P.S books are awesome
PP.S Iím finishing now!
Hi, Iím Evelyn
I have been subscribed since January 2017 (4.5 years!) when my grandma signed me an my sister, Emily, up and we have loved the magazines ever since. We have now a whopping 54 in total now! Our favourite issues were Amazon, Japan, Evolution and Ancient Egypt.
From two of your AQUILAnauts, Evelyn and Emily!
Iím Connor from St Ives, NSW, and your mag is my favourite of all the magazines I have read, my favourite parts being puzzle sections and the historical stories. Iíve been receiving your magazine for about 6 years now, though it was my sister who was originally subscribed to your mag. One of my favourite issues was Night At The Movies, which inspired me to do a PIP(Personal Interest Project) about the history of animation. I once brought the What Is Art? issue into school and my class and I figured out The Attack Of The Vindaloo Vandal, which everyone LOVED. Iím not sure if youíve done one yet, but Iíd love to see a Thomas Edison issue. This is my cover design for a potential Albert Einstein issue, something else Iíd really love. I hope you like it!
P.S Aoife I also love Skullduggery Pleasant!!!

We love your magazine and have subscribed for about 4 years now. Our Grandfather buys it for us. We lived in Germany for 3 years but now we are back home in Auckland, New Zealand. Our favourite issues were London and Dinosaurs. We would love it if you did one about Pokemon!
We really enjoy the short stories too.
Here we are with a picture of our rocket we made with our Dad Ė itís from the Space issue. It was mostly successful but didnít fly quite as far as we had hoped! We took a funny video and sent it to our family too!
Keep up the good work guys!
From Ben,12 and Alex,9.
